Join Meagan Burns for a hosted sketch experience in Mexico City, where artists come together to draw, explore, and experience one of the world's great cities from our home base in tree-lined Condesa. This is not a formal workshop, but a thoughtfully organized long weekend of sketching in parks, museums, historic neighborhoods, and lively markets, with plenty of time to observe, fill your sketchbook, and enjoy some amazing food along the way.

Mexico City is one of the world's great sketching cities. Ancient history, remarkable architecture, leafy neighborhoods, bustling markets, world-class museums, and extraordinary food create endless opportunities to observe, draw, and experience the city one sketch at a time.
Over four days, we'll explore Mexico City together through our sketchbooks. I'll take care of the planning, logistics, and daily flow so you can focus on drawing, discovering new places, and enjoying the experience alongside a small group of fellow artists.

Meagan Burns
Meagan Burns is an artist, educator, and the creator of Continuous Line Storytelling. Based in Mexico City, she has spent years leading artists through sketching experiences that combine drawing, travel, and cultural exploration.
For this long weekend, Meagan takes care of the planning, logistics, and daily flow so you can focus on drawing, discovering the city, and enjoying the experience. From neighborhood cafés and museums to local markets and shared meals, every detail is thoughtfully organized to help you experience Mexico City through your sketchbook.
Sketch Mexico City Agenda
Wednesday | Welcome to Mexico City
Arrive in Mexico City and settle into your accommodations near Parque México in Condesa. In the afternoon, we'll gather to meet the group and create our handmade sketchbooks before heading out for a casual welcome taco dinner at one of my favorite neighborhood spots. (Sketchbook materials and dinner included.)
Thursday | Condesa & Roma
We'll begin with coffee and sketching near Parque México before setting out to explore Condesa and neighboring Roma Norte. We'll get acquainted with the neighborhoods, stop to sketch along the way, and experience some of the architecture, parks, street life, and local food that make this part of Mexico City so special.
Friday | Coyoacán
Travel by private van to colorful Coyoacán for a full day of drawing and exploring. We'll sketch some of the neighborhood's iconic sights, wander its plazas and streets, enjoy lunch at the mercado, and spend the afternoon sketching before returning to Condesa. (Transportation included.)
Saturday | Anthropology & Chapultepec
We'll spend the day at Mexico City's extraordinary National Museum of Anthropology, with time to explore and sketch its remarkable collections and architecture. After lunch at the museum, we'll continue our afternoon with sketching in neighboring Chapultepec Park. (Transportation and museum admission included.)
Sunday | Sketch, Celebrate & Farewell
Our final morning begins with a celebratory sketch gathering in Condesa before we sit down together for a special farewell lunch featuring seasonal Mexican cuisine. We'll share our drawings, favorite moments, and one last meal before saying goodbye. (Farewell lunch included.)

Travel insurance is required for participation.
Hotel Accomodations
Accommodations are not included, and each participant books their own lodging.
Our home base for the experience is Parque México in Condesa, so I strongly recommend staying within easy walking distance of the park. Many of our daily activities and transportation departures will begin and end here.
Airbnb offers a wide range of apartments throughout Condesa, while hotel options within the immediate neighborhood are somewhat more limited.
When choosing your accommodations, location near Parque México should be your priority.
Transportation
Mexico City International Airport (MEX) is the most convenient airport for our experience. When booking your flight, double-check that you are arriving at MEX, rather than Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA), which is considerably farther from Condesa.
From MEX, authorized airport taxis and Uber are readily available for transportation to Condesa. Travel time varies considerably depending on Mexico City traffic, so give yourself plenty of time, especially when returning to the airport.
On arrival day, make your way directly to your accommodations near Parque México and settle in before our first gathering.
Travel insurance is required for this experience.

Experience Fee: $600 USD
The experience fee includes four days of hosted sketch activities with Meagan Burns, scheduled outings, private group transportation during designated excursions, museum admission, handmade sketchbook materials, and the meals listed under What's Included.
Not included: airfare and travel to Mexico City, accommodations, travel insurance, meals not specifically listed as included, personal art supplies, and personal expenses.

Pencil, gum eraser, salt, scrapers, bleed-proof white, water bottle, paper towel
Tiny stool for sitting (completely optional). I use the Cooseon 10" folding stool, which folds up nicely and fits in my backpack, but others prefer the Walkstool Comfort.
Bring any additional art supplies you prefer.
Participation in the sketching sessions is required.
I’m your host, Meagan Burns
Mexico City is an extraordinary place to draw. I live in Condesa, and this experience grew out of the places I return to again and again: neighborhood cafés, parks, museums, mercados, street corners, and the everyday scenes that make this city endlessly interesting.
I'll be leading our small group throughout the weekend, taking care of the itinerary and logistics while we explore Mexico City through our sketchbooks. This isn't a formal workshop, so there is no instruction or prescribed way to draw. We'll sketch together, explore at a relaxed pace, eat exceptionally well, and experience some of my favorite corners of the city.
